ESPN broke the news first and also on http://www.wwe.com, Goldberg has been announced as the first inductee into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame.
Goldberg who was home grown in WCW was popular in the late 1990s by his amazing winning streak, winning the WCW United States Championship and ultimately defeating Hulk Hogan on Monday Nitro in July of 1998 to win the WCW Heavyweight Championship.
Once WWE bought WCW in 2001, Goldberg and others sat out of their guaranteed contracts. Goldberg eventually debuted in the WWE the night after WrestleMania 19 in 2003. Goldberg’s deal expired after WrestleMania 20. The Crowd turned on Goldberg and Lesnar that night.
It left Goldberg a bitter taste of the Wrestling Business until Goldberg signed deal to appear on WWE 2K18. It lead to a one-time match with Lesnar. Once Goldberg figured he had a nice run, he went on to win the WWE Universal Championship at FastLane. Eventually losing the championship to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. Goldberg amended his relationship with Vince McMahon and redeemed himself for the way he left in 2004.
