Mexico City, one of your favorite sons is coming home.

The UFC announced that heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will return from a long layoff to defend his title against interim titleholder Fabricio Werdum at UFC 188, June 13.

This should be a pretty good battle worthy of a main event. Velasquez was supposed to face Werdum back at UFC 180. An injury sidelined the champion and Werdum ended up defeating Mark Hunt for the interim title.

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit torn on this one. Velasquez has been unstoppable for pretty much his entire MMA run, except for a loss in 2011 when he dropped the title to Junior dos Santos. Since then he’s reclaimed the title and successfully defended it on two occasions.
