It looks like we’ll be getting that UFC Heavyweight title unification bout take place in the original location that the first bout was to be held in.
SporTV Globo is reporting that Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (13-1) will defend his championship against current Interim Heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1) in Mexico City on June 13.
Velasquez and Werdum were to battle for the title at UFC 180 back on November 15, but an injury to Velasquez during training kept him from competing and he was then replaced by Mark Hunt (10-9-1)
Werdum then defeated Hunt in an Interim Heavyweight title fight and has been awaiting a fight ever since.
Velasquez has been out of action since October 2013 when he successfully defended his championship against Junior dos Santos (17-3) at UFC 166.
