It was confirmed on Fox Sports 1 that Jon Bones Jones will fight the winner of the Alexander Gustaffson/Anthony Johnson fight.

In addition, tonight’s UFC 182 gate was 11,575 and $3.7 million dollars.

It was well short of a sellout, however Dana White has confirmed that it is over 750,000 pay per view buys.

UFC 168 which featured Chris Weidman vs Anderson Silva drew 15, 650 fans and a gate of $6.2 million dollars in the same MGM Grand Arena.

Therefore although short at the gate, best expectations on the pay per view buys (pay per view is not dead).

In my opinion, the holidays have a lot to do with the gate. Many of the individuals returned to work 1/2 or are returning on 1/5. Therefore, it would be difficult to travel to Vegas the first weekend of 2015 without even working one day in the year.

ZUFFA and the UFC should not be discouraged at all and it is a great way to start 2015.
